In the early middle ages, the church, built in 600 AD, became the last resting place of the martyr St. Emmeram, who died on his way to Aschheim after being tortured. The first school for the village children was established here in the 18th century, in a small hermitage. During the 1960s and 1970s, the village grew considerably. With over 5,600 inhabitants it features mostly terraced and detached houses. Aschheim also offers cultural institutions like the local historic collection as well as a setting surrounded by nature. The S-Bahn line S2 connects Aschheim to Munich and the surrounding area. The access roads to the motorways A99 and A94 provide connections to Munich's city center as well as to national and international long-distance transport.

Due to the quiet and idyllic rural location that is nonetheless well-connected to central Munich, Aschheim has developed into an attractive location. Furnished apartments and houses here are a good alternative to the hectic city life. If you haven't found a suitable offer, then take a look at the neighbouring communities Feldkirchen and Kirchheim.
