  • 5.1 Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics 4 ("Google Analytics"). The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Google Building Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies". These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable your use of the website to be analyzed. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

We only use this tool if you have given us your prior consent via the cookie banner. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit.a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future by adjusting your cookie settings under Privacy settings.

You can find more information on how Google Analytics handles user data in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

During your visit to the website, your user behavior is recorded in the form of "events". Events can be

  • Page views
  • First visit to the website
  • Start of the session
  • Your "click path", interaction with the website
  • Scrolls (whenever a user scrolls to the bottom of the page (90%))
  • Clicks on external links
  • Internal search queries
  • Interaction with videos
  • file downloads
  • Ads viewed / clicked on
  • language setting

Also recorded:

  • Your approximate location (region)
  • Your IP address (in abbreviated form)
  • Technical information about your browser and the end devices you use (e.g. language setting, screen resolution)
  • your internet provider
  • the referrer URL (via which website/advertising medium you came to this website)

5.1.1 Recipients of the data

In order to evaluate the use of the website, Google may transmit your IP address to Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA and Alphabet Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

These companies are based in the USA. The level of data protection in the USA has not been recognized as equivalent to that in the EU. US authorities may also gain access to your IP address.

Your IP address will therefore be shortened by Google within a member state of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. In addition, we have concluded the EU standard contractual clauses with Google to ensure an adequate level of data protection.

5.1.2 Purpose of data processing and storage duration

On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website operator. The analysis enables us to improve our website based on the information about the use of our website, to adapt it to your needs and to improve user-friendliness. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for processing purposes.

5.1.3 Option to deactivate Google Analytics

You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

5.1.4 Demographic characteristics with Google Analytics

This website uses the "demographic features" function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be created that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-based advertising from Google and from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can deactivate this function at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as described above under "Option to deactivate Google Analytics".

5.2 Google Analytics Remarketing

Our website uses the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in conjunction with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick from Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This function makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalized advertising messages that have been adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behavior on one device (e.g. cell phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC). If you have given Google your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalized advertising messages can be displayed on every device on which you sign in with your Google account. To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create audiences for cross-device advertising. You can permanently opt out of cross-device remarketing/targeting by turning off personalized advertising in your Google Account by following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

We only use this tool if you have previously given us your consent via the cookie banner by consenting to "Google Analytics" ("Google Analytics Remarketing" and "Google Analytics" are technically linked cookies that are always activated or deactivated together). The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future by adjusting your cookie settings under Privacy settings.

Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google's privacy policy at: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

5.3 Google Ads and Google conversion tracking

This website uses Google Ads from Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States ("Google"). As part of Google Ads, we use what is known as conversion tracking. When you click on a Mr. Lodge ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. Cookies are small text files that the Internet browser stores on the user's computer. These cookies lose their validity after 120 days at the latest. If you visit certain pages of this website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that you clicked on the Mr. Lodge ad and were redirected to the Mr. Lodge website. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. The cookies cannot be tracked via the websites of Ads customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for us. This tells us how many users clicked on our ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information with which we can identify you.

If you do not wish to participate in tracking, you can object to this use by deactivating the Google Conversion Tracking cookie in your browser settings or by deactivating tracking at https://www.google.de/settings/ads. You will then not be included in the conversion tracking statistics.

We only use this tool if you have previously given us your consent via the cookie banner. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future by adjusting your cookie settings under Privacy settings.

You can find more information about Google Ads and Google Conversion Tracking in Google's privacy policy: https://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

5.4 Google reCAPTCHA

We use "Google reCAPTCHA" (hereinafter "reCAPTCHA") from Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google") on our website. The purpose of reCAPTCHA is to check whether the data input on our website (e.g. in a contact form) is made by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent on the website by the website visitor or mouse movements made by the user) and transmits this to Google. This information is not merged with other personal data stored by Google. Google uses the information obtained to improve its own products, such as Google Books and Google Street View.

We only use this tool if you have previously given us your consent via the cookie banner. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future by adjusting your cookie settings under Privacy settings.

Further information on Google reCAPTCHA and Google's privacy policy can be found at the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.

5.5 Website analysis with Matomo

5.5.1

We use the website analysis tool "Matomo" to regularly improve our website and tailor it to your requirements and needs. For this purpose, Matomo evaluates your usage behavior on the website and creates reports and statistics for us. We use Matomo in the cloud version. Matomo is operated by InnoCraft Ltd, 7 Waterloo Quay, PO Box 625, 6140 Wellington, New Zealand ("Innocraft"). Your data is stored on servers within the European Union. In addition, the European Union has recognized the level of data protection in New Zealand as comparable to that in the European Union.

5.5.2

Matomo records your usage behavior on our website using the so-called config_id. The config_id is a character string that is calculated for each visitor on the basis of their operating system, browser, browser plug-ins, IP address and browser language. Matomo accesses the data that your end device transmits to our servers for technical reasons when you access the page. No access is made to data stored on your device. Matomo uses the config_id to summarize various actions of website visitors in a short time window of up to 24 hours. The config_id loses its validity after 24 hours at the latest.

In some cases, however, Matomo requires cookies to be set. These are purely functional and do not collect any personal data. They only serve to increase user security and data protection.

The essential cookies and the reasons for which they can be set are

  • piwik_ignore
If you select the opt-out method under 5.6.3, Matomo creates the piwik_ignore cookie so that Matomo no longer analyzes your future visits to the website.
  • MATOMO_SESSID
MATOMO_SESSID is a temporary, short-lived cookie that provides a nonce - basically a random number - to prevent security issues while you opt out of tracking under 5.6.3.
  • _pk_testcookie
The _pk_testcookie is only used to check whether your browser supports cookies and is created without an identifier and deleted again immediately.

5.5.3

If you do not wish to be included in the website analysis, you can prevent this by deselecting the following checkbox:
