When the sun begins to set, the city becomes especially beautiful. These are the places where you can experience the best sunset in Munich:

Olympic Hill

The Olympic Park is one of the most beautiful parks in Munich. All over the grounds, people sit down on the slopes with picnic blankets and chilled refreshments. It's a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset - far from the crowds that flock to the English Garden. And the climb up the 60 meter hill is well worth the effort. Once at the top, you have a wonderful view of the city, the Olympic Stadium and lake as well as the Olympic Tower.

Nymphenburg Palace

The Nymphenburg Palace is imposing and yet very romantic. Take a leisurely evening stroll along the canal and enjoy the majestic sight of the evening sun reflecting in the water before disappearing behind the palace. The well-kept grounds and the swans complete the picturesque allure.

Hackerbrücke

The Hacker Bridge is one of the classic viewing spots to enjoy the evening sun. With cool drinks in hand, join the many others watching the sun set behind the tracks. The expansive view over the railroad tracks combined with the modern office buildings give the spot a lovely big-city feel.

Friedensengel

If you want to enjoy the sun's rays until the last minute, you should visit the Maximilian grounds. The view onto the historical city center from the Friedensengel ("Angel of Peace") is particularly beautiful. As the sun sets, Munich lies at your feet in soft shades of gold and red.

Bavaria

During the day, the large Theresienwiese is often rather empty. In the evenings however, people start gathering on the steps below the Lady Bavaria statue. The sunset is not at its best here, but with the right company, the atmosphere is still very special.
