Right from Giesing Station, there are various connecting services, such as: the U2 and U7 subway lines, bus routes 139, 59, and 54, and the S3 and S7 S-Bahn lines, all of which also take you directly to downtown Munich. By car, you can also reach the A8 or the Mittlerer Ring in about 5 minutes. In addition to public transportation, Giesing Station is home to two supermarkets, an organic grocery store, several bakeries, a pharmacy, and a health center.
For nature lovers, the Perlach Forst recreational area is about a 10-minute bike ride away. It’s also part of the 150-km-long “RadlRing München” bike route. The Kugler-Alm offers a typical Bavarian dining experience. Also famous is the Bavaria Filmstadt, which can be reached by bike. In the other direction, it takes 15–20 minutes to reach the high banks of the Isar and Hellabrunn Zoo, which borders directly on the Flaucher and the Isar floodplains.
