Hadern is well-known for the extensive hospital complex consisting of over 40 different clinics and medical centers. Additionally, the LMU’s biology and chemistry department and several student residencies can be found in Martinsried, a district belonging to Hadern. The LMU shapes Hadern’s economic image, as do many small businesses.

The old village centers of the communities belonging to Hadern still exist and have retained their traditional, rural charm with the beautiful and well-preserved village churches St. Peter and St. Canisius. Hadern is also home to a small theater which is houses in a student residency, as well as
and art gallery, an adult education center and a city library.

One of Hadern’s biggest advantages as a residential area is the quiet located and the
good traffic connection to the inner city with U-Bahn line U6, which only takes 20 minutes to reach the center. The proximity to nature makes this district attractive as well. The green spaces in Hadern’s southwest are ideal for relaxing and make you forget the hectic buzz of the city.
