The history
This gated residential complex was built in the 1920s for wealthy citizens and was named after the well-known building contractor Bernhard Borst, who was responsible for planning the estate. The Borstei even houses a "Borstei Museum", which is dedicated to the history of the housing estate and the life and work of the entrepreneur Bernhard Borst.
Location and infrastructure
Stores, doctors and a post office can also be found in the buildings arranged around quiet green courtyards. A large number of garages and parking spaces are available for residents. The location is relatively quiet and very conveniently situated between the two beautiful local recreation areas, the Nymphenburg Palace Park and the Olympic Park. There are also numerous stores for daily needs and several restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Borstei is also very well connected to public transport: the Westfriedhof stop on the U1/U2 underground line is just a few minutes' walk away.
