Gauting is located about 20 km southwest of Munich (city centre). The prominent imperial crown in the coat of arms of this Munich suburb goes back to a legend, according to which Charlemagne was born in the Gauting rice mill.

The landscape is dominated by the Würm River, which flows through Gauting and forms the so-called Würm Valley. Gauting is therefore also popular with excursionists and tourists because of its beautiful hiking trails. The Starnberger See as well as the Ammersee are nearby and invite you to make excursions. The suburb is well connected to the Munich public transport network through the station of the S6 (Gauting): Both the city center and the more distant surrounding area can be reached quickly and easily.
In the village you will find a quiet location for furnished accommodation. Gauting is a residential area framed by forests and meadows with partly rural and partly urban structures. In the 19th century, the opening of the railway line led to rapid population growth, and the "summer resort", which had become fashionable, gave rise to an entire colony of villas. Even today Gauting is still considered a prosperous and upscale suburb of Munich. Today, there are mainly single-family houses and only a few multi-story residential buildings. Similarly beautiful offers of furnished apartments can be found in the neighboring suburbs of Starnberg, Gräfelfing and Stockdorf.
