Oberhaching: exclusive and green
Location and history
Oberhaching is located approx. 16 km south of Munich (Zentrum) and borders directly on the Grünwald district to the east and Taufkirchen and Unterhaching to the northeast. The town dates back to an old Bavarian settlement and stretches southwards along the Hachinger Bach stream. The Hachinger Tal was already settled in the Stone Age and is still a popular place to live today. The municipality of Oberhaching, which has a population of around 12,000, retains its village charm; only in the district of Deisenhofen is there any significant commercial development.
Local recreation and transport links
The quiet location, which gives the residential area its exclusivity, is rounded off by excursion destinations that also attract visitors from Munich and the surrounding area. The Kugler Alm , for example, is a large Oberhaching beer garden that is particularly popular in summer. The S3 Furth and Deisenhofen S-Bahn stations guarantee a quick connection to Munich's Zentrum and outlying districts. In addition, numerous regional Meridian trainscan be reached from Deisenhofen station, providing connections to destinations in Bavaria.
Beautiful properties in a similar location can also be found in Unterhaching, Grünwald and Ottobrunn.
