With a population of around 5700, Haimhausen is the easternmost municipality in the Upper Bavarian district of Dachau and is located on the Amper river. The municipality of Haimhausen is close to the A9 and A92 highways and is connected to Pfaffenhofen and Munich via the B13. To the east and southeast, state and district roads run into the district of Dachau. In Eching and Unterschleißheim there are connections to the MVV suburban trains.
Recreation and education
The Amper Valley, in which Haimhausen is located, is one of the oldest settlement areas in Bavaria. The landscape around Haimhausen has a lot to offer: Springs, running and still waters, moor and moss areas, deciduous and coniferous forests. The municipality is an ideal residential area for families and nature lovers. There are several kindergartens and a primary and secondary school in the village. The Bavarian International School is also a nationally renowned educational institution based in Haimhausen.
