Development
This district is best known for its huge hospital complex with over 14 hospitals. The Großhadern Clinic is home to the University Hospital and is a training center for many medical students. The university's biology and chemistry complex is also located nearby. However, the old town center still exists and impresses with its traditional rural flair and the beautiful and well-preserved village church of St. Peter. Großhadern also has a small theater, the Heiglhoftheater, which is housed in a student residence, and an art gallery. There is almost exclusively upmarket residential development here, mainly detached houses, as well as some charmingly renovated farmhouses from the 19th century.
Location
One of Großhadern's greatest advantages is its quiet location and good connections to the city center via the U6 underground line. But the immediate proximity to nature also makes this Munich district very attractive: the green spaces in the south-west offer an opportunity to relax and make you forget that you are living in one of Germany's largest cities. There are similarly beautiful apartments in the neighboring districts of Kleinhadern, Forstenried and Laim.
