Schliersee
Fischbachau is a municipality and parish village in the Upper Bavarian district of Miesbach about 64 km southeast of Munich.
The town has around 5800 inhabitants and was already settled in the 11th century. The most famous building is probably the St. Martin's Minster parish church, the oldest Romanesque basilica in Upper Bavaria. Fischbachau is an idyllic place surrounded by unspoilt countryside. Two nature reserves border the municipal area. There is a kindergarten in the village and a primary and secondary school in Neuhausen.
Drivers have easy access to the A8 highway. The Fischbachau stop on the Schliersee-Bayrischzell railroad line is located in the Hammer district. Regional buses also connect the village with Miesbach.
