Small-town charm in the Obermenzing district
Development
Together with Pasing, Obermenzing forms the administrative area of Pasing-Obermenzing and shares many of the characteristics of the neighboring district. Obermenzing is particularly popular with the self-employed and academics. Around Obermenzing's largely preserved historic village center are mainly detached and semi-detached houses from the post-war period, surrounded by spacious gardens, as well as a few working farms. Many small and medium-sized businesses have settled along the main roads. Obermenzing offers apartments in a quiet and green location that is more reminiscent of a small town than a Munich district.
Landmarks and transport links
A central landmark of the district is the Gothic Blutenburg castle complex, which serves as the backdrop for a lovingly decorated Christmas marketin winter and is also the venue for the famous Blutenburg Castle Concerts. Despite its distance from the Zentrum, Obermenzing is perfectly connected to Munich city center both by private transport (via Pippinger Straße) and by public transport (via the S2, Munich-Obermenzing stop), which can be reached in just a few minutes.
The surrounding areas of Untermenzing, Karlsfeld, Pasing and Moosach offer similar amenities.
