Untergiesing rich in tradition

Infrastructure
As a classic working-class district, Untergiesing has its roots in the 19th and 20th centuries. This district is characterized above all by the famous Grünwald stadium of TSV 1860 Munich. But other leisure activities also make Untergiesing a great place to live: the popular Schyrenbad swimming pool attracts visitors from all over Munich and the Auer Mühlbach stream and rose garden are great places to relax. The citizens' initiative "More space to live" has been campaigning for the beautification of the district since 1997 with various activities and district festivals. For example, Hans-Mielich-Platz was extensively renovated in 2011 and a beautiful weekly market was initiated at Mangfallplatz.

Development
The residential development in Untergiesing is mixed, with mainly large apartment buildings with nice apartments and a few detached houses. Further to the south, the district finally tapers off and becomes increasingly greener along the Isar meadows. Untergiesing is perfectly connected to public transport via the U1 Wettersteinplatz and St. Quirin Platz stations.

There are similarly beautiful offers in the Harlaching, Fasangarten and Giesing districts.
