Ammersee
Inning is located in the south-western outskirts of Munich and belongs to the district of Starnberg. From a residential perspective, it is particularly relevant that the municipality is not only located on the Ammersee, but also on the Wörthsee with districts such as Bachern.
The official municipal website explicitly describes Inning with the districts of Inning, Stegen, Buch, Bachern and Schlagenhofen; historical sites also mention Arzla in connection with the 1975 territorial reform. The settlement structure is described in current planning documents as a compact core town with predominantly very rural districts.
Herrsching, Seefeld, Wörthsee and Andechs are particularly relevant for orientation. Inning is conveniently located on the axis between Munich and the western Fünfseenland, but at the same time benefits from being smaller and quieter than some of the better-known lakeside towns. It is precisely this mixture of lakeside location, town center and rural sub-areas that makes Inning an interesting place to live.
The existing Mr. Lodge website describes Inning as a quiet, natural community with around 4,500 inhabitants and emphasizes its location between the lakes as well as its good basic services. More recent official documents cite 4,822 inhabitants as at 31.12.2024 and also classify Inning as a basic center. What is particularly important for the residential perspective is that Inning is not just an excursion destination, but a place with a center suitable for everyday use, grown sub-areas and comprehensible infrastructure.
The main town has a compact and functional feel, while the districts are much more rural. This creates a residential profile that is interesting for various search profiles: quiet family living, locations characterized by houses, living close to the lake or deliberately secluded sub-areas with more of a village character. Planning documents explicitly describe the town center along Herrschinger Strasse around the market square, restaurants, services and local amenities.
Inning is particularly interesting for:

Inning is solidly positioned for everyday life. The town center along Herrschinger Straße around the market square, services and local amenities forms a functional hub; the weekly market on Thursdays completes the offering.
Inning also has a good range of restaurants for a small town. The municipality lists restaurants, cafés and beer gardens in Inning and its districts; several addresses are currently listed in the official directory.
Inning is particularly strong in terms of recreational value and everyday family life. The Stegen outdoor swimming area is considered very family-friendly; at the same time, there are several childcare facilities as well as the Inning elementary school and other educational facilities in the surrounding area.
