Miesbach
Weyarn is a municipality 44 km south-east of Munich in the district of Miesbach and has around 3900 inhabitants. The village is idyllically situated above the Mangfalltal valley on the northern edge of the Alps, with Seehamer See on the eastern edge of the municipality.
The history of the village begins in 1133 with the founding of the Weyarn monastery, which was built on the original Viare castle.
Weyarn is a very citizen-oriented and active community and was recognized for this by the Bertelsmann Foundation in 1999. There are several kindergartens, an elementary school and a primary and middle school in the village
Weyarn is close to the A8 highway, so it is easily accessible by car. The Bavarian Oberlandbahn train runs to Darching station (approx. 3km away) and the S-Bahn line S3 can be reached at Holzkirchen station (approx. 10km away).
