Legend has it that in 1441, a monk found an oil spring whose balsamic effect went down in history as the "stone oil of Tegernsee". The community has therefore always stood for the healing effects of nature on people. Almost 500 years later, the Dutchman Adrian Stoop discovered the healing waters of Bad Wiessee in his search for black gold, which turned out to be the strongest iodine-sulphur spring in Germany. But it's not just the healing springs and specialized clinics that attract people to the spa town; the beautiful landscape at the foot of the Fockenstein and Aueralm has a soothing and relaxing effect on everyone.

Bad Wiessee on the western shore of Tegernsee is located approx. 52 km south of Munich and the A8 highway is approx. 22 km away. The well-developed DB Oberbayern Bus network takes guests comfortably from Gmund station to their desired destination in Bad Wiessee.

There are also good offers for temporary living in the surrounding communities of Rottach-Egern, Gmund and Bad Tölz, both apartments and houses.
