Legend has it that in 1441 a monk found an oil spring whose balsamic effect went down in history as the "Stone Oil of Lake Tegern". Since then, the community has stood for the healing effect of nature on the human body and soul. Almost 500 years later, the Dutchman Adrian Stoop, in his search for black gold, discovered the healing springs of Bad Wiessee, which turned out to be the strongest iodine-sulfur spring in Germany. But not only the healing springs and specialized clinics attract people to this health resort, the beautiful landscape at the foot of Mount Fockenstein and the Aueralm has a beneficial and regenerating effect on everyone.

Bad Wiessee on the western shore of Lake Tegernsee is located about 52 km south of Munich and you drive about 22 km to the highway A8. The well-developed network of the Deutsche Bahn Bus (DB Oberbayern Bus) brings its guests comfortably from the train station Gmund to the desired destination of Bad Wiessee.

There are also good offers for temporary living in the surrounding communities of Rottach-Egern, Gmund and Bad Tölz.
