Eching am Ammersee
According to the municipality, Eching is located around 34 kilometers west of Munich and 20 kilometers east of Landsberg am Lech. The Ammersee lake, the Ampermoos nature reserve and the wooded Weingarten recreational area characterize the landscape.
At the same time, the municipality is located in the Fünfseenland, a region that is not only scenically attractive, but has also been in demand as a residential location for years.
Greifenberg, Schondorf, Türkenfeld, Windach and Stegen are particularly important points of reference for everyday life. Together with Greifenberg and Schondorf, Eching forms a community triangle on the Ammersee. In terms of transportation, Türkenfeld and Geltendorf also play an important role with their rail connections as well as Stegen as an easily accessible shore and boat landing point.
Although Eching is clearly rural in character, it is functionally closely linked to the surrounding area to the west and the rail routes to Munich.
From a residential perspective, Eching is particularly interesting for people who deliberately want to live outside the city. The municipality itself describes the town as a desirable place to live and work, where the demand for housing exceeds the available supply.
It is typical of Eching that it is not urban density, but the character of the village, open space and proximity to the countryside that characterize living here. This is particularly attractive for tenants and buyers who are not looking for a city center on their doorstep, but rather a place where the lake, nature and everyday life come together.
From a residential perspective, Eching is therefore a good fit for families, couples with space requirements, those seeking peace and quiet, home office-oriented households and people looking for a reliable retreat in the Munich area.

There is not an infinite number of shops in the village, but there is a solid basis for everyday life. At the entrance to the village you will find REWE, Vinzenzmurr, Ihle, KiK and the health center. There are also several local restaurants such as Gasthof Eberhardt, Gasthof Roming and Strandhaus Ammersee.
The gastronomy in Eching am Ammersee is straightforward, but in keeping with the town: down-to-earth, regional and personal. Gasthof Roming offers classic tavern cuisine right in the village, while Strandhaus Ammersee scores points in summer with its kiosk, restaurant and lakeside terrace.
There are other excursion destinations nearby, such as the Seerestaurant Forster in Schondorf or the Wangerbaur near Greifenberg with its beer garden. Eching thus combines quiet living with short distances to regional cuisine and relaxed lakeside eateries.
Those who live in Eching benefit from direct proximity to the Ammersee, Ampermoos, Weingarten and several cycle paths. The Ammer-Amper long-distance cycle path and the Ammersee cycle path are two attractive cycle routes that run through the surrounding area. In addition, the Ammersee itself is a central location for water sports, swimming and summer leisure activities. This combination makes Eching particularly attractive for residents on a day-to-day basis.
