Ammersee
The municipality of Wörthsee is located on the north-eastern shore of the lake of the same name about 15 kilometers north-west of the district town of Starnberg and has a population of around 5100. The current municipality was created by merging the districts of Etterschlag and Steinebach in 1972.
Lake Wörthsee is the third largest lake in the so-called "Fünfseenland" region alongside Lake Starnberg and Lake Ammersee and is a popular excursion destination with its clear, turquoise waters. The town also boasts an excellent infrastructure, a lively club life and numerous activities for young and old.
Wörthsee has several crèches and kindergartens, as well as an elementary school. Secondary schools can be found in the surrounding communities.
Wörthsee is also well connected in terms of transportation. The A96 highway crosses the municipality to the north and the S-Bahn line S8 runs every 20 minutes from the Steinebach stop in the direction of Munich or Herrsching. There are also several regional bus routes in the town.
