Hohenbrunn is located approx. 17 km south-east of Munich (Zentrum). With just under 9,000 inhabitants, Hohenbrunn probably dates back to a foundation from the 9th century. The origin of the place name "Prunn" or "Punnum" refers to deep wells that had to be dug as there was no surface water in the immediate vicinity.
Development and transport links
The Riemerling district in particular, which has retained its park town character, has very picturesque residential areas. The quiet location close to nature and the primary and secondary schools also makes the area very attractive for young families. The surrounding countryside, which offers many recreational areas, and the lively club life in Hohenbrunn offer many opportunities for leisure activities. The S7 S-Bahn line provides a quick and easy connection to Munich and the region.
