Miesbach
In der Region Tegernsee & Oberland finden Sie eine vielfältige und oftmals naturbelassene Landschaft, wie man sie sonst nirgendwo in Deutschland findet.
The district town of Miesbach with its almost 11,500 inhabitants is located in the district of the same name in Upper Bavaria and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018.
In the hometown of the world-famous Miesbacher Tracht, a mighty maypole stands surrounded by small stores in winding alleyways. The Altstadt offers a special flair, especially on market and festival days. This is because festivals are celebrated in the traditional costume town and, according to connoisseurs, an excellent wheat beer is brewed here. The Zentrum of cultural life in Miesbach is the Waitzinger Keller with an interesting program of events in a special atmosphere. Hiking enthusiasts appreciate the varied network of trails in the middle of the beautiful Hag landscape. From here you can not only enjoy the magnificent mountain scenery of the Alpine region, but also reach historical destinations such as Wallenburg Castle.
From Miesbach it is only about 10 km to the A8 highway and only about 46 km to Munich. The Bayerische Regiobahn stops at Miesbach station, which takes you comfortably by public transport to the smallest district town in Upper Bavaria. Tegernsee is approx. 11 km away.
