This part of Maxvorstadt, bordering the city center to the north, is characterized by majestic neoclassical buildings, especially between Odeonsplatz, Königsplatz and Ludwigstraße with the university buildings, and its central location near the LMU and TU universities is perfect for students. A mixture of posh and student flair gives this district its special, lively touch and makes Maxvorstadt one of the most popular residential areas in the city. Josephsplatz is located directly on the border between Maxvorstadt and the neighboring Schwabing district and is dominated by the magnificent baroque building of Josephskirche.
Infrastructure
In contrast to the otherwise very densely built-up Maxvorstadt, a spacious square has been kept free in front of the church, where the Franziskusbrunnen fountain and a small children's playground are located. The residential area offers many beautiful properties and benefits from its central location: all stores for daily needs and many restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity. In addition, the nearby Maßmannpark is a beautiful, albeit small, green space on the doorstep. The equally nearby Nordbad offers more space for sporting activities. Although the parking situation in Maxvorstadt is very difficult, residents of Josephsplatz have had the privilege of their own underground parking garage for several years now, which significantly eases the situation. Josephsplatz itself is located right next to the subway station of the same name on the U2 line, which provides a quick and easy connection to the city center.
