Apartments in Gmund am Tegernsee
The village of Gmund developed at the mouth of the Mangfall, as this was a natural obstacle on the way to the Benedictine monastery at Tegernsee. As the waters are rich in fish, fishermen and craftsmen settled at the old St. Michael's Church, which was considered the original parish of the Tegernsee valley.

The down-to-earth and tradition-conscious community with 6,115 inhabitants is also known as the gateway to Tegernsee. The idyllic and rural atmosphere with its farms and avenues makes living in Gmund particularly popular.
But hikers and mountain bikers also like to start their multi-day routes through the diverse surrounding nature here: for example, a gentle version of the Alpine crossing to Sterzing or the famous long-distance cycle routes Bodensee-Königssee and Munich-Venezia.
One of the most popular sights is the parish church of St. Ägidius. It was built between 1688 and 1692 by master builder Lorenzo Sciasca in the Baroque style. Due to its hilltop location, the church towers over the entire village. Today, the surrounding cemetery with all its old and traditional graves is surrounded by a wall.
Gmund am Tegernsee is only 17 km from the A8 highway and has a train station where the Bayerische Regiobahn from Munich stops. Munich is approx. 47 km away by car.
If you haven't found the right furnished apartment here, then it's worth taking a look at the neighboring communities of Rottach-Egern, Tegernsee and Bad Wiessee.
