Freimann, home of the Allianz Arena

History of Freimann
Freimann, the eponymous part of the district, was first mentioned in documents in 948 and 957 as ad Frienmannun. In the 1930s, a housing estate for families was built in the former villa suburb, which was later expanded with various rental and owner-occupied apartment complexes. In the 1960s, Neu-Freimann was developed as another residential area with commercial space and parks and gardens.

Infrastructure and transport links
Today, the Metropoltheater and the LOK Freimann youth center provide cultural variety in the district. Freimann is also home to one of Munich's central landmarks: the Allianz Arena. You can find peace and quiet in the nearby Fröttmaning Heath, which was declared a nature reserve in 2016. Not far from there is also Fröttmaning Hill, where the art installation "Sunken Village" commemorates the resettlement of the village that had to make way for a landfill site and from which you can overlook the whole of Munich. The U6 subway station (Freimann) connects the district to public transport, while the slip road to the A9 highway guarantees easy access to long-distance traffic.

Similarly beautiful properties can also be found in Kieferngarten, Parkstadt Schwabing and Milbertshofen. You can find unfurnished apartments for rent on Immoscout24.
