You can still clearly see the district's village origins; the old church in Kriechbaumhof on Preysingstraße still marks the center of the village. The small and winding alleyways in this area captivate with the romantic charm of days gone by and lead all the way to Wiener Platz, which already provides a clear contrast with its well-frequented beer gardens. Further south at Rosenheim Platz, Haidhausen becomes even livelier thanks to its connection to the Munich "Stammstrecke" (the central S-Bahn line), where you will find stores and boutiques of all kinds. If you continue in the direction of the Isar, you will finally reach the Gasteig, Munich's largest cultural center, which combines the city library, adult education center, cinema and philharmonic orchestra . A few meters further on, you are already at the idyllic Isar meadows and the old Müller public baths, which are the most beautiful baths in Munich thanks to their imposing Art Nouveau architecture and are a highlight of Haidhausen's cityscape.
